Leave the space in the same condition you found it and in the way you would like someone else to leave it for you. Please wipe surfaces clean with cloth (and detergent). 9. All trash and food must be placed in basement hallway garbage bins.
  10. No turpentine or other chemicals is allowed to be poured down the drain or left open and unsecured. You are responsible for disposing of all hazardous materials properly. 14. When leaving, make sure windows are securely shut and that door is locked.
  15. No pets, with the exception of service animals, are allowed.

No unsolicited ‘donations’ of furniture or studio equipment without approval of the HVG Art Studio committee.

ART STORAGE ROOM RULES

The Board and Community have generously made this space available to facilitate working in the studios, and have allocated funds to repair the floor and purchase shelving. We encourage members to rent lockers and purchase bin storage in order to keep a little income streaming into the room and show that we appreciate having it. Members at all levels are equally welcome to use the room. However there isn’t adequate space for the permanent storage of finished work. Please arrange for private storage and move older work out to accommodate newer work. To allocate the space fairly, please observe the following rules:

Painting Shelf (no additional charge)
For works in progress or recently completed paintings only. It is not for permanent storage. To accommodate as many paintings as possible, please limit the depth of your stretchers and supports to no more than 2”. For smaller paintings we encourage you to use ¾” stretchers. The shelves are divided into several size areas that will hold the following:
Five-to-six-foot paintings: room for 8 works (limit: two paintings per member)
Three-to-four-foot paintings: room for 8 works (limit: two paintings per member)
18-24” paintings: room for 16-32 paintings, (limit: four paintings per member)
16” and smaller paintings: room for 32-64 paintings, depending on depth (presently no limit)

If the painting shelves begin to fill up, members will be asked to move their older completed works to private storage. Please clearly identify your paintings on their edges with name/apt.#.

Drying Rack (no additional charge)
Room for eight paintings. Works in progress only, not for storage. Please identify your work.

Flat File (no additional charge)
Ten Drawers available. First-come/first-served. Please be considerate; only one drawer per member. Please identify your drawer with name and apartment number.

Metal Cabinet (no additional charge)
Five shelves available 16”D x 36”W x 12”H. No additional charge. First-come/first served. Please be considerate; only one shelf per member. Please identify your shelf with name and apartment number.

Bin Storage ($100/annually per bin area)
There are nine bin areas that will accommodate bins up to 18W x 26”H x 24”D. Please consider renting a bin area and identify it with with your name and apartment number.

Lockers ($75/annually per locker)
There are 18 metal gym lockers available. Please consider renting one or more lockers and identify your locker(s) with name and apartment number.

Utility Cart
The cart is meant for rolling supplies to/from the work room. If no one else needs it, you may use it as a temporary taboret. However it must be shared if more than one person has booked a time slot simultaneously. Please return the cart to the storage room and leave it empty when you’re finished.

NOTE: there is a live fuse board in this room, as well as an active maintenance pit. Therefore the entire left half of the room must be kept completely clear.

The Art Studio will be monitored and violation of the rules and regulations may result in monetary penalties and/or a forfeiture of membership.

Please note that the HVG Art Studio is a work in progress that depends on the interest and commitment of interested HVG residents. All membership options, fees, rules and regulations are subject to change at the discretion of the Committee.
